REGULATION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT, ORGANIZATION AND OPERATION OF THE REGIONAL CENTER FOR RESEARCHER CAREER GUIDANCE IN THE SOUTH-WEST OLTENIA REGION (CROC)

The purpose of CROC’s activity is to ensure optimal conditions for the development of researchers’ careers for young people in the South-West Oltenia region, by improving assistance services for researchers, increasing interest in research careers among young people, promoting Romanian research results at the regional level, and stimulating cooperation between regional career guidance centers and the European network.

The Regional Center for Researcher Career Guidance in the South-West Oltenia region is established to support the implementation of counseling and guidance activities in research careers through the project “The Researchers of the Future” – code 1116.11.2022, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Call No. PNRR-III-C9-2022 – 110. The address of CROC headquarters is on A.I. Cuza Street, no. 13.

CROC is organized and operates based on its own Regulation approved by the University Senate.

CROC is integrated into the Department of Teacher Training – DPPD, being subordinated to the Vice-Rector for Study Programs and Quality Assurance and the Vice-Rector for Computerization and European Funds Administration, responsible for the center’s strategy.

CROC is led by a CROC Council, chaired by the director of this department. The CROC Director is appointed by the Rector’s Decision and ensures the operational management of this department.

The CROC Council consists of 9 members with a deliberative role for aspects related to its responsibilities. Its structure is as follows: CROC Director, 1 DPPD representative, 1 CCOC representative, 4 faculty representatives, 1 IOSUD representative, 1 INCESA representative. The CROC Director is appointed by the Rector’s Decision and ensures the operational management of this department.

Within CROC, three categories of activities will be carried out:

a) Researcher career guidance activities for students, doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers from the South-West Oltenia region,

b) Activities to promote research and attract young people to research careers among students and high school students from the South-West Oltenia region,

c) Activities within the national network of the eight regional career guidance centers as part of ERA TALENT PLATFORM, which will be established through I.10 PNRR.

To carry out CROC activities, it will collaborate with the faculties and teaching departments, doctoral schools within the University of Craiova for conducting researcher career guidance and counseling activities.

Researcher career guidance and counseling activities are organized individually and/or in groups, which include a maximum of 15 participants.

The teaching staff involved in CROC activities consists of counselors, trainers, CCOC experts, DPPD, INCESA representatives and representatives from the business environment.

The researcher career counselor provides individualized and/or group guidance to students/master’s students/doctoral students/post-doctoral researchers/young researchers, through direct face-to-face meetings, email, the university’s e-Learning platform or combined forms.

The counselor ensures specific academic career management activities for researchers (career progress monitoring, personalized assistance, counseling).

Annually, joint activities of the researcher career guidance centers network will be organized.

  • CROC will manage its own section of the online portal ERA TALENT PLATFORM ROMANIA, which will be coordinated by the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization.
